Furla continues Asian and European expansion with new store openings

The upgrade at Ben Gurion Airport enables Furla to offer a wider selection within a space that is aligned with the brand’s DNA

Italian leathergoods brand Furla has announced new openings in Beijing and Warsaw, as well as an upgrade to its retail space at Ben Gurion Airport.

At Beijing Capital International Airport, Furla has opened a 45sq m store at Terminal 3 with Sunrise Duty Free. The store officially opened on 27 March with the brand’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

Furla Global Travel Retail Director Gerry Munday commented: “Asia is an extremely important region for Furla’s business development strategy with Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong being critical locations for outlets both on domestic and travel retail markets. It was a pleasure to work with Sunrise Duty Free again and I thank them for their help with this opening.”

Continuing with its chain of European openings, Furla opened a new 13sq m personalised back wall at Warsaw Chopin Airport with Aelia Polska. The back wall officially opened on 1 April within Your Fashion Store with the SS15 collection.

“We are certainly not short on Furla stores in Europe with new openings in Barcelona, Cyprus, Helsinki, Moscow and Zurich within a three-month time frame. Thanks to Aelia Polska for their help with the opening,” Munday said.

Furla has also upgraded its existing generic positioning at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport to a 10sq m personalised shop-in-shop within the new JR Duty Free multi-brand store.

Merchandised in line with Furla’s new concept store design, the space opened officially on 1 April also with the SS15 collection.

Munday said: “This upgrade now enables Furla to offer a wider selection within a space that is much more in-tune with the brand’s DNA. The new shop-in-shop looks great and I’d like to thank James Richardson for their help with this opening.”
