Shiseido Travel Retail will make its first appearance as Shiseido Group’s newly created entity for the global travel retail channel at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore, B2, booth B20. There it will debut Issey Miyake Summer Fragrances 2016 and Narciso Poudrée. [The creation of the new division was the subject of a major recent interview by The Moodie Davitt Report.]
The global fragrance market is forecasted to exceed US$40 billion by 2020, according to Shiseido Travel Retail, with Asia Pacific and the Middle East representing the fastest-growing regions. In line with this, Shiseido plans to focus on growing its fragrance business, which currently makes up over 30% of travel retail sales.
Shiseido Travel Retail Vice President Marketing Elisabeth Jouguelet explained: “The 1 May 2016 unification of the Shiseido Group in travel retail brings new synergies to our offer for this dynamic channel, and we see plenty of potential to grow the fragrance axis of our portfolio.”
Leading this renewed focus is the launch of L’Eau d’Issey Eau de Toilette pour l’Été and Narciso Poudrée.
Every year, Issey Miyake fragrances collaborates with a creative partner on a summer scent. This year, English artist Michelle McKinney has joined forces with Firmenich perfumer Alberto Morillas to create L’Eau d’Issey Eau de Toilette pour l’Été.

L’Eau d’Issey Eau de Toilette pour l’Été for women is a described as “fruity floral” which blends pink grapefruit and lychee with passion fruit and guava.
L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Eau de Toilette pour l’Été mixes kiwi with spicy, fruity notes. In this masculine version, coriander combines with “slightly bitter” grapefruit, a heart of pineapple and nutmeg and a base of vetiver and cypress.
L’Eau d’Issey Eau de Toilette pour l’Été 100ml and L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Eau de Toilette pour l’Été 125ml are available in travel retail locations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa from 1 May 2016.
Narciso Poudrée, the latest fragrance from American designer Narciso Rodriguez, is a floral blend of white jasmine petals and Bulgarian rose. Signature woody notes of vetiver and black and white cedars underpin a heart of powdery musk, according to the company.
The delicate pink hue of the juice and the packaging are said to be a reference to Narciso Rodriguez’s fashion collections.
Narciso Poudrée is available in 50ml and 90ml in travel retail locations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa from 1 May 2016.
