FRANCE. In a show of solidarity and practical support with the people of France during the COVID-19 crisis, luxury giant LVMH has deployed production facilities of key perfume & cosmetics brands to produce large quantities of much-needed hydroalcoholic gel.
Christian Dior, Guerlain, and Parfums Givenchy’s factories today began producing hand-sanitisers and hydroalcoholic gel to aid French hospitals.
The luxury giant said it will produce and deliver the hydroalcoholic gel free of charge for as long as necessary.
LVMH hopes that the initiative will address the lack of essential sanitation products in France; help public health workers curb the spread virus in the front lines; and better equip the country’s citizens so they can protect themselves during this time of crisis.
In a statement, LVMH said: “Given the risk of a shortage of hydroalcoholic gel in France, [Chairman] Bernard Arnault has instructed the LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics business to prepare its production sites to manufacture substantial quantities of hydroalcoholic gel to be provided to public authorities.”
