William Grant & Sons today announced the full acquisition of leading UK ultra-premium gin producer Silent Pool Distillers.
Production will remain at Silent Pool Distillers in the Surrey Hills, southeast England, while William Grant & Sons will act as the brand’s global supply chain and distribution partner. This will help Silent Pool expand across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific, William Grant & Sons said.
Silent Pool Gin has developed a strong business in global travel retail where it is managed by Barry Geoghegan’s Duty Free Global which will continue to handle the brand in certain markets, The Moodie Davitt Report understands..
The acquisition adds a complementary brand to William Grant & Sons’ portfolio of renowned premium whisky and spirits, helping with the expansion of its Hendrick’s-led gin portfolio.
Founded in 2014 by Ian McCulloch and James Shelbourne, Silent Pool Distillers has become the producer of one of the UK’s best-selling ultra-premium gins.
“Over the past nine years we have built a distillery that creates a unique product that represents the stunning Surrey Hills location where it is made,” said McCulloch, who serves as Managing Director of the company.
