Thélios – LVMH Group’s eyewear division – has signed an agreement to acquire Californian luxury eyewear brand Barton Perreira. The transaction is expected to complete in the next few weeks.
Barton Perreira was founded in 2007 by Bill Barton and Patty Perreira in Los Angeles, California. The brand has become renowned for its timeless designs and high-quality frames, establishing a loyal customer base around the world. Both Barton and Perreira will keep their respective roles in the business as the brand enters a new phase of growth with Thélios.
The acquisition further expands Thélios’ portfolio, reinforcing its position as a leader in luxury eyewear. According to the partners, the deal will expand Barton Pereira’s global store footprint through Thélios’ selective distribution network.
Barton Perreira, which was a strong presence in the US, will leverage Thélios’ global reach and luxury expertise to expand into high-potential markets in Europe and Asia.
Thélios CEO Alessandro Zanardo commented: “We are excited to welcome Barton Perreira into our Maison portfolio. The brand is a true gemstone in the eyewear industry, standing for understated luxury, timeless designs and exceptional craftsmanship. We are looking forward to working with Barton Perreira’s talented team and dedicate ourselves to preserving its identity while leveraging our resources and expertise to further develop the brand.”
Barton Perreira Co-Founder, CEO and Designer Bill Barton echoed the sentiment: “We are incredibly proud of what Barton Perreira has achieved over the years, and we believe this partnership with Thélios will take the brand to new heights. Thélios shares our passion for craftsmanship and quality, and we are excited to see the wonderful things we will achieve together.” ✈
