Our regular feature, brought to you in association with Strange Nature Gin from New Zealand, celebrates memorable scenes, moments, launches and campaigns related to the global aviation and travel retail sphere.
IRELAND/INTERNATIONAL. Our latest choice of images comes, fittingly, as ARI teams across multiple markets join together to celebrate Earth Day today (22 April) with a series of initiatives in line with the travel retailer’s commitment to sustainability and promoting environmental consciousness.
In a bid to reduce plastic waste and encourage the use of reusable alternatives, ARI is offering complimentary cotton bags to customers with every in-store purchase made today in Ireland, Cyprus, Portugal and Montreal.
The company noted that the “durable and stylish bags are not only practical but also contribute to minimising the environmental impact associated with plastic alternatives. By making this simple switch, we hope to inspire our customers to adopt more sustainable changes in their daily lives.”
Other locations are implementing community initiatives, electronic recycling and supporting conscious shopping through products that are sustainably sourced. This includes a partnership with Nestlé for the launch of its Sustainably Sourced Cocoa product range. Portugal Duty Free will carry out tastings of the new Nestlé range in-store throughout the week.
ARI Chief Operations & Business Development Officer and Global ESG Lead Nuno do Amaral said: “At ARI, we believe we have a responsibility to minimise our environmental impact and contribute to the wellbeing of the planet. By introducing these sustainable initiatives, we hope to inspire our customers to join us in our commitment to making small changes that will make a big difference in building a more sustainable future for generations to come.”
ARI said it will continue to focus on three key pillars – People, Planet and Product – as part of a five-year ESG strategy across the group. ✈
