Hamad International Airport sets new passenger record in Q1

QATAR. Hamad International Airport has hailed a “remarkable surge” in traffic after a record first quarter in which it served 13,171,540 passengers. Q1 saw a +27.6% year-on-year increase, surpassing all previous highs set last year.

Aircraft movements also experienced a significant increase in Q1 (+23.9%) compared to the previous year, with a total of 69,959 arriving and departing from the airport.

Hamad International Airport continues to strengthen its position as a global aviation hub, as another passenger record tumbles

The new passenger high follows hot on the heels of multiple triumphs in the recent 2024 Skytrax World Airport Awards, including the Doha travel hub winning World’s Best Airport and Best Airport Shopping. Hamad International was also named Best Airport in the Middle East for the tenth time in a row.

The airport now connects a network of 48 airlines, 44 of which operated in Q1 and an additional four that have joined the Hamad International network since. ✈
