Eyewear company EssilorLuxottica returned to the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (29 September-3 October) for its third edition as a combined entity.

The company’s presence at the event highlighted its continued focus on craftsmanship, innovation and diversification in travel retail.

With a focus on driving sustainable growth and enhancing partnerships with retail operators and travellers, EssilorLuxottica’s refreshed booth offered visitors a first-hand look at its expanded portfolio, including a preview of Moncler’s upcoming debut eyewear collection.

As reported, Italian fashion brand Moncler and EssilorLuxottica entered an exclusive licensing agreement on 22 November last year.

Additionally, EssilorLuxottica recently entered the hearing solutions market with the introduction of Nuance Audio-equipped frames. The Nuance Audio device aims to enhance sound for the wearer by changing their hearing focus depending on where they are looking.

Innovation was the name of the game at the EssilorLuxottica stand, which showcased new technologies such as the Nuance Audio hearing solution device

The booth also showcased Oakley Future Genesis, a futuristic vision of the world and the next era, building on the brand’s heritage as Oakley approaches its 50th anniversary in 2025 within the disruptive eyewear and fashion industry. Limited-edition Oakley products were on display, offering a glimpse into the brand’s future by blending new technologies with its established design philosophy.

At the Cannes show, EssilorLuxottica highlighted its Red Carpet app, which combines sales, marketing and enriched storytelling; and Leonardo, an advanced digital training platform designed for retail staff.

Visitors were also treated to live demonstrations by artisans from Fedon, showcasing the craftsmanship behind the customisation of leathergoods such as eyewear cases and wallets.
