Ian Macleod Distillers and Avolta partner for exclusive Edinburgh Gin Liqueur Elevated Editions pre-launch

The Elevated Editions range offers enhanced flavour intensity and a higher ABV with its name a nod to air travel and premiumisation in the category

Ian Macleod Distillers has unveiled a global travel retail-exclusive range of Edinburgh Gin Liqueur Elevated Editions, launching this month in partnership with Avolta.

The Elevated Editions range is available exclusively at Avolta’s UK World Duty Free stores throughout October before expanding to wider distribution across the channel.

The range comprises three expressions: Rhubarb & Ginger, Raspberry and Blood Orange & Ginger. Each offers a more intense natural flavour profile and a higher alcohol content compared with the domestic range (22% ABV vs 20%).

With a recommended retail price of £11.99/€13.90/US$15.99, the Elevated Editions collection can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. The signature serve is the Rubi Spritz. It combines the Rhubarb & Ginger Elevated Editions liqueur with sparkling wine and ginger ale.

Avolta Global Head of Liquor David de Miguel commented: “At Avolta, we are committed to bringing travellers exclusive products and the launch of Edinburgh Gin Liqueur Elevated Editions with Ian Macleod Distillers is a great example; a pioneering range that combines innovation, flavour and exclusivity, and one we are confident will delight our customers across World Duty Free stores.”

“For the first time ever, a range of GTR-exclusive Edinburgh Gin liqueurs is available,” added Ian Macleod Distillers Head of Travel Retail William Ovens. “Edinburgh Gin is a star performer in our portfolio and we are extremely excited to introduce this new range to World Duty Free shoppers with Avolta.”

The Moodie Davitt Report earlier this year announced the results of the inaugural TREX Awards. “Differentiation is key to creating real value in and consumer curiosity about travel retail. True TREXs do that, offering products of real value that by definition cannot be procured elsewhere,” said The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie. Nominations for the second TREX Awards will be called for later this year.
