Ian Macleod Distillers has showcased Rosebank 31 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky at a high-profile event ahead of the expression’s global travel retail launch with Avolta’s World Duty Free at London Heathrow and Edinburgh Airport in March.
The rare Lowland single malt Scotch whisky will be available in strictly limited quantities in the channel.

The Rosebank 31 Year Old (70cl/48.1% ABV) single malt claimed Best in Show – Whisk(e)y at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition in November.
It is the second rare release from stocks produced before the distillery was shut down in 1993.

The whisky was highlighted at the Scottish Investment Forum held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, attended by King Charles III and First Minister John Swinney.
They were joined by representatives of IMD, the family-owned firm behind Rosebank Whisky, including Managing Director and Chairman Leonard Russell; Head of International Business Development Tom Russell; and Brand Director for Rosebank and sister brand Glengoyne Whisky Katy Muggeridge.
The occasion also gathered representatives from whisky, healthcare and AI to showcase Scottish entrepreneurialism and business.

Leonard Russell said: “We are honoured to have met His Majesty and to have been able to present him with Rosebank Whisky which, fittingly, is a jewel in our crown. Rosebank whiskies were distilled before the distillery’s closure in 1993 and left undisturbed in refill casks for over three decades.
“The resurgence of the distillery has been important to the town of Falkirk, and we look forward keenly to a time when we can release our newly distilled Rosebank whiskies. We are so proud that King Charles and the First Minister have been able to share this exceptional whisky with us today.”

Rosebank was founded in 1840 in Falkirk, just 23 miles from Edinburgh, and ceased operations in 1993, remaining inactive for over 25 years. Its revival was completed in 2023 after an award-winning, four-year reconstruction, representing one of the most important Scottish distillery revivals in recent decades. ✈
