UK. London City Airport today named well-respected senior industry executive Jonathan Rayner (right) as Chief Commercial Officer and a member of the Executive Committee. He joins the airport company in July.
Rayner joins from Peel Ports Group, where he serves as Chief Commercial Officer and sits on the Executive Board. Before that, he was Chief Commercial Officer at London Luton Airport. He also held senior leadership roles at Edinburgh Airport, including Aviation and Digital Director.
He will lead London City Airport’s commercial strategy, with responsibility for strengthening airline and business partnerships, enhancing the passenger experience and driving performance across the airport’s revenue-generating activities.
London City Airport Chief Executive Officer Andy Cliffe said: “Jonathan is a highly accomplished commercial leader with experience across aviation, transport and infrastructure, and I am delighted to welcome him to London City Airport.

London City Airport serves more than 30 destinations across the UK and Europe. The airport welcomed 3.7 million passengers in 2025 and has secured government approval to increase annual passenger capacity to 9 million by 2031.
Recent developments include the launch of British Airways’ new Toulon service, further expanding London City Airport’s growing leisure offering. It has also announced plans to open its first luxury pre-flight hospitality experience in early 2027, in partnership with Aspire Pre-Flight Hospitality, as the airport approaches its 40th year. ✈
