CHILE. Plaza Premium Group (PPG) is to enter the Chilean market with the opening of five airport lounges at Santiago de Chile Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, marking a significant expansion of its Latin American network.
The airport hospitality specialist will open three Plaza Premium Lounges by the end of 2026, with a further two scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2027.

Together they will offer capacity for more than 530 guests across five locations ranging in size from 215sq m to 536sq m.
The Chile launch forms part of PPG’s wider Latin America growth strategy. The company said the project has drawn on expertise from teams in Hong Kong, the USA, Brazil and Chile as it expands its regional footprint.
PPG also noted the decision to develop five lounges reflects the growing importance of Santiago as one of Latin America’s principal aviation gateways.
The airport’s domestic terminal served more than 12 million passengers travelling between Santiago and 17 destinations across Chile in 2025.

Plaza Premium Group Senior Vice President, Latin America David Thompson said, “More than expanding our geographic footprint, our arrival in Chile represents a long-term investment in one of the region’s most important markets.
“New projects are already under evaluation in the country and we believe we will soon further strengthen our presence in this important market.”
Santiago de Chile Airport CEO Nicolas Claude said, “The new lounges that PPG will open in our Domestic Terminal are aligned with the focus on experience and hospitality that are pivotal for Santiago de Chile Airport, as they will provide high-quality areas, with a distinctive seal of Chilean identity.”
Plaza Premium Group is celebrating ten years in Latin America in 2026. The company entered the region in 2016 with the opening of facilities at Rio de Janeiro’s Tom Jobim International Airport (Galeão), its first operation in Brazil.
Globally, PPG now operates across more than 600 airports in over 150 countries, serving more than 30 million passengers annually. ✈
