Qatar Duty Free and Nestlé reveal exclusive Kitkat Japan experience

Kitkat’s signature red-and-white branding creates a strong visual anchor for the Japan-inspired activation

QATAR. Qatar Duty Free, in partnership with Nestlé International Travel Retail, has unveiled an exclusive Kitkat ‘Taste of Japan’ activation at Hamad International Airport.

The pop-up, which began on 10 August and runs for three months, is located across the South Node, North Node and Central concourses.

Travellers can choose from Kitkat Japan flavours including Matcha, Blueberry Cheesecake, Tokyo Shima Lemon and Otona no Amasa Dark Chocolate.

Shoppers purchasing any two Kitkat Japan products receive a complimentary Gachapon token, which can be redeemed for an exclusive collectable inspired by Japanese capsule toy culture.

Japanese cultural cues are woven into the merchandising, including maneki-neko (beckoning cat)

The activation draws on Japanese design cues, with red accents, Japanese-inspired graphics and dedicated retail displays.

Custom gondolas across the three airport locations showcase the Kitkat Japan range through illuminated displays and branded merchandising.

At the South Node, an interactive Gachapon machine forms a central part of the experience. Eligible customers can use their token to receive one of the Kitkat Japan collectables.

Qatar Duty Free noted, “The Kitkat Japan activation brings together Japan-inspired storytelling, exclusive products and interactive engagement, offering travellers an opportunity to experience the flavours and culture of Japan as part of their journey.”

‘Taste of Japan’ messaging ties the exclusive confectionery offer closely to destination discovery
