SWITZERLAND. Zurich Airport retail and dining turnover reached CHF429.2 million (US$529 million) in the first eight months of 2026, a rise of +3.2% year-on-year.
Airside sales from January through August climbed by a healthy +8% with landside sales down by -3.5% compared to the same period in 2025. It should be noted that the landside sales performance is due to store closures related to a programme of renovations that continues over the next 18 months.
That project was covered in detail in an on location feature we published in late 2025; click here for more.

The rise in airside sales outstripped +4.5% passenger traffic growth in the eight-month period, with the figure reaching 22.5 million.
Airside spend per departing passenger climbed +3.4% to reach CHF23.50 (US$28.97) in the eight months.
In August, commercial turnover reached an all-time high of CHF58.9 million (US$72.6 million), up +2% year-on-year, with airside sales climbing by +5.1%.
Passenger traffic climbed by +1.8% year-on-year in July to 3.3 million. ✈
