Cannes confirmed as TFWA World Exhibition & Conference host through 2029

FRANCE. Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has renewed its partnership with the City of Cannes, confirming the French Riviera destination as host of TFWA World Exhibition & Conference from 2027 for at least a further three years.

The agreement was signed today (28 September) in Cannes by TFWA President Sarah Branquinho and Nicolas Gorjux, President of Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes and operating company SEMEC.

It extends a relationship spanning more than four decades between TFWA and Cannes, where the association’s flagship event brings together brands, retailers, transport operators and other stakeholders from across the global duty-free and travel retail community.

Under the fresh agreement, TFWA World Exhibition & Conference will return to the Palais des Festivals in autumn 2027, with dates to be confirmed in due course.

TFWA President Sarah Branquinho said, “TFWA is delighted to announce the extension of its partnership agreement with SEMEC, confirming Cannes as the host city for TFWA World Exhibition & Conference from 2027 for at least three further years.

“The strong spirit of partnership we share with the city, Le Palais des Festivals and our local partners has been instrumental to the continued success of our flagship event.

“Over the years, Cannes has become much more than a destination: for one week each year, it is the global meeting place and home of the duty-free and travel retail industry.”

“Travel retail finds here an ecosystem particularly well suited to its challenges.

“This partnership fully reflects our mission: to welcome the world sustainably and to make Cannes a place for international exchange, creativity and innovation, where people from around the world enjoy coming together and imagining the experiences of tomorrow.”
