QATAR. Foreign exchange specialist Travelex has expanded its retail presence in Qatar with new and upgraded locations at Hamad International Airport, Doha Al Jadeda metro station and in the Matar Qadeem district.
The company has opened a landside store at Hamad International, where it now operates 15 locations. These include traditional stores positioned along key passenger routes as well as mobile, dual-sided foreign exchange kiosks.
The new outlet follows continued passenger growth at the airport, which recorded 54.3 million passengers in 2025, up +3% year-on-year.
At Doha Al Jadeda metro station, Travelex has more than doubled its customer service points from three to seven. The store, which opened in 2022, serves one of the city’s busiest metro corridors.

Travelex has also unveiled a store in Doha’s Matar Qadeem district, focused primarily on remittance services. The company said the location will allow customers to send money to more than 350,000 locations worldwide.
Travelex Managing Director – Middle East and Türkiye & Southeast Asia Batu Dölay said: “Despite recent challenges, Qatar continues to see strong long-term momentum in international travel, and these new openings ensure we are well positioned to meet growing customer demand across key locations.
“The addition of a landside presence at Hamad International Airport, alongside our expanded metro station store and new Matar Qadeem branch, allows us to better serve both travellers and local communities with greater convenience and accessibility.”
Travelex now operates 19 stores across Doha. Its Qatar network offers access to more than 45 currencies, available for same-day purchase or collection following an online pre-order. ✈
