SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free is partnering with Moët Hennessy to host a series of private, invitation-only events for the retailer’s top-tier domestic members in Seoul and Busan.

The events following a strategic business agreement signed with Moët Hennessy at TFWA World in Cannes, France, last month (click here for our report on that partnership).

On Friday 23 October Lotte Duty Free hosted a Glenmorangie Masterclass at Pierre Gagnaire on the 35th floor of The Grand Lotte Seoul – a renowned French fine-dining restaurant.

The 20 top-tier domestic members in attendance were treated to a storytelling session exploring the brand’s history and philosophy, while enjoying long-aged whiskies paired with complementary culinary offerings.

LVMH-owned Glenmorangie, a Highland single malt whisky, offered four  expressions at the event: Glenmorangie 21 Year Old and Signet Reserve alongside sister brand Speyside whisky Aultmore’s 25 Year Old and 30 Year Old.

A highlight of the masterclass was a bespoke food-pairing experience, curated exclusively for top-tier VIP guests by the culinary team at Pierre Gagnaire.

Dr. Bill Lumsden hosted his first-ever masterclass at a Korean duty-free store, sharing the brand’s creative philosophy and the journey of innovation behind its whiskies

This Thursday (29 October) Lotte Duty Free will host a Prestige Champagne Class in the southern city of Busan, again in collaboration with Moët Hennessy.

Offered exclusively to 20 of the retailer’s top-tier Korean members, the event will feature five high-end Champagnes, including Dom Pérignon, Armand de Brignac and Veuve Clicquot.

Participants will explore the philosophy and unique characteristics of each Champagne house, while enjoying a diverse tasting experience designed to highlight the distinct flavour profiles shaped by different grape varieties and vintages.

To further enhance the experience, Lotte Duty Free is offering benefits from its digital payment and membership reward platform LDF PAY – usable toward future purchases – to all attendees of the Seoul and Busan events.

A Lotte Duty Free spokesperson stated, “By collaborating with premium liquor brands, we have created a special setting where our top-tier customers can enjoy curated tastings and food pairings.

“We plan to continue expanding our engagement with VIP clients through private events tailored to their personal tastes, alongside differentiated shopping perks.”

Lotte Duty Free said it is expanding its premium services, aiming to enhance not only the shopping experience for VIP customers but also their overall convenience throughout their travels.

In partnership with GoodLuck, the company offers luggage storage and delivery services for top-tier VIPs. And in collaboration with Paris Class, it operates a personalised, one-on-one travel concierge service.

While the concierge service is available to all members, top-tier customers receive additional discounts. ✈
