INDIA. Hyderabad Duty Free, a division of GMR Hospitality and Retail Limited, has recently inaugurated its store at GMR Hyderabad International Airport’s newly opened international arrivals area.
At 2,400sq m, the store is one of India’s largest arrivals duty free shopping zones.
Hyderabad Duty Free offers a wide assortment of world-renowned brands across perfumes, cosmetics, sunglasses, watches, confectionery, tobacco, travel essentials, packaged foods, gifts and souvenirs.
In related news, the departures shopping area will be expanded shortly from 350sq m to 1,650 sq m. With an eventual total area embracing some 4,050sq m the two retail corridors will “spoil the shoppers for choice with an unmatchable ambience”, Hyderabad Duty Free said.
Hyderabad Duty Free described the brightly lit new store as “a consumer’s paradise” and enticing for international passengers. GMR Hyderabad International Airport CEO Pradeep Panicker said: “Hyderabad Duty Free offers international travellers a delightful shopping experience with unmatched prices. The new arrival store is indeed an experiential outlet that attracts passengers.
“Our aim is to bring best-in-class brands, offers and shopping experience to the shoppers that are on par with the global best by providing unmatched value proposition and an enhanced shopping experience.”
Across both arrivals and departures, Hyderabad Duty Free plans to emphasise opportunity categories such as electronics, sunglasses and watches. The travel retail said it has done much research to understand shoppers’ preferences, the findings of which will help customise the product portfolio and offers.
Departing international passengers can collect discount coupons from the departures duty free store. By redeeming them at the arrivals store upon their return to India they can receive discounts up to -15%.
Hyderabad Duty Free is also offering -15% discounts through a partnership programme, designed as another value add for shoppers.
The Click & Collect facility allows international passengers (both departure and arrival) to pre-book their choice of products online and collect them at the airport. The programme offers an additional -10% discount over and above the regular price. ✈
