FRANCE. Aéroports de Paris (AdP) has reported a -4.0% year-on-year decline in passenger traffic in September 2009 to 7.1 million.
Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (-4.3%) handled 5.0 million passengers while Orly Airport (-3.4%) handled 2.1 million.
International traffic (excluding Europe) decreased by -2.4%. Traffic on North American routes fell by -4.5% while Latin America dropped by -7.1%.
On Middle Eastern and Asian routes traffic dropped by -2.4% and -1.9% respectively.
European traffic (excluding France) fell by -5.7% including -4.8% on Schengen routes and -9.8% for the British and Irish markets. Domestic traffic stood at -3.6%.
The number of connecting passengers was stable in September 2009 compared with September 2008 with a connecting rate of 26.8% (against 25.9% in September 2008).
For the first nine months of the year passenger traffic decreased by -5.4%. For the same period the number of connecting passengers decreased by -3.8% resulting in a connecting rate of 24.5% (against 24.1% for the first nine months of 2008).
