Airports of Thailand appoints Paweena Jariyathitipong as President to lead aviation growth

THAILAND. Airports of Thailand (AOT) has announced the appointment of Paweena Jariyathitipong as AOT President, effective today (16 January).

Prior to this role, she served as the airport company’s Senior Executive Vice President (Engineering and Construction) and Acting President.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Transport, Paweena said: “Assuming the full role of President marks the beginning of propelling AOT into the future.

“Guided by the vision of elevating Thai airports to world-class standards through the World Class Hospitality concept. Our goal is to deliver the best passenger experience at every touchpoint, from infrastructure and facilities to high-quality, modern services that meet the needs of today’s travellers.

“At the same time, we will expedite various investment projects efficiently and cost-effectively under the Smart Investment principle, ensuring every baht invested generates maximum returns for the organisation.

“This will be paired with restructuring our revenue streams appropriately – both aeronautical revenues and non-aeronautical revenues – to align with actual management costs, strengthening our long-term financial resilience and sustainability.

“We will also prioritise building an agile, fast-moving team, ready to adapt to change and collaborate effectively.”

Paweena brings extensive experience across finance, engineering and commercial and service operations, making her well-positioned to address the challenges of the global aviation industry.

Her management approach focuses on balanced growth, elevating airport standards and service quality to a global level.

This is complemented by strategic investment and careful cost management to bolster financial performance, boost competitiveness and build investor confidence, while balancing the interests of all stakeholders.

Under her leadership, AOT aims to drive long-term economic growth and position Thailand as a resilient and sustainable regional aviation hub.
