SPAIN. Aldeasa is to open an 8,000sq m area in Madrid Barajas Airport’s new Terminal Four.
It will be the largest shopping area within a Spanish airport, the company said. The company will now operate close to 16,000sq m, double the area managed up until now in the capital city’s airport. Aldeasa’s investments in the new retail area have exceeded €20 million.
The company is to operate 19 new stores in T4: a shopping area covering 3,458sq m in the main building and 4,572sq m in the annex building.
Aldeasa said it has made important efforts to adapt its offering to the particular requirements of the new airport infrastructure. “The result is an innovative and modern shopping area with the broadest and most competitive range of products available at any Spanish airport,” the company claimed.
The retailer will introduce a range of new commercial concepts at T4, as well as a new store design and a “complete renewal” of the products on offer.
New logo for a new era
Changes include a new logo which is easily recognisable and remains in line with the previous design. “The new range of products available in T4 has been designed to meet the expectations of increasingly demanding consumers, seeking a shopping area with services of the highest quality,” Aldeasa said, pointing out that this enhanced offering follows a survey carried out with a thousand passengers from eight different nationalities.
The new logo is intended to visually represent all the qualities defining the stores within the new terminal, including reliability, specialisation, proximity, variety and modernity.
Aldeasa’s new image will be exhibited initially in the T4 shopping area, with the new logo to be rolled out gradually at the remaining Barajas terminals.
The opening of the new terminal also represents significant staff increases for Aldeasa. 203 new jobs are to be created, bringing the total number of Aldeasa employees in Barajas airport to 750.
