GERMANY. Leathergoods company MCM has got 2008 off to a strong start with several confirmed new listings.
The luxury brand’s Beijing Airport presence has been strengthened following an agreement with Sunrise for a 23sq m shop-in-shop in Terminal 3, opening in early February.
As previously announced, a 110sq m monobrand store will begin trading in the Domestic T3 with Hao Jie next month.
In addition, Sunrise is listing MCM in its Shanghai International Airport store via a 15sq m personalised corner, opening at the end of February.
February also sees downtown and T1 listings start for the company with Ever Rich in Taiwan.
In June, MCM will open a personalised 23sq m shop in Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s Contact Pier with Eraman Malaysia.
MCM also confirmed that its new listing with Dubai Duty Free will begin in May, where a personalised space will open in Fashion Concourse 2.
“This is a fantastic start to 2008, and even more exciting are the dozen or more other new listings for which we are awaiting final confirmation, further consolidating and expanding MCM’s position in Europe, the Middle and Far East,” said Global Travel Retail Director Gerry Munday.
“It shows continued belief in the brand by airports and retailers and supports MCM rapid growth and development on domestic markets worldwide.”
