Amsterdam Airport September international passengers up a strong +8% – 13/10/05

NETHERLANDS. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol continued to achieve the strongest growth in intercontinental passenger volume in September 2005 – up by almost +8% year-on-year, according to provisional figures.

The Dutch airport served over 4.1 million passengers in September 2005, a +4.9% increase over September last year. The number of passengers travelling to European destinations rose by +4%.

Some 35,709 air transport movements were carried out, edging up +1.1% over September 2004. In addition, passenger aircraft reflected a high load factor, with average seat occupancy increasing to 79.7% during the month.

During the first nine months of this year, passenger volume was up by +3.7% compared with the same period in 2004.
