Areas anchors new Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport food court with two high-end restaurants

FRANCE. Travel restaurateur Areas is to introduce six food & beverage concepts to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport’s recently-reopened Terminal 1. They will neighbour each other in a new food court on the revamped terminal’s mezzanine level.

Venues from vegan and vegetarian restaurant Exki, McDonald’s and cafés from Paul and Starbucks will be joined by two high-end restaurants – Bistrot Benoit (the brand owned by the Ducasse Restaurant Group) and Kirei by Kubaki.

The new Areas food court development has been designed in a Parisian-loft style, in partnership with renowned Paris architecture firm Malherbe.

All six F&B brands will offer click and collect services, as well as taking orders via on-site digital terminals.

Bistrot Benoit, whose venue portfolio includes a restaurant in the famous Louvre Museum (the airport restaurant is based on this particular design), features red velvet banquettes, a zinc counter and brass railings. Service will be provided by staff trained at École Ducasse, a Paris culinary school with a worldwide reputation for excellence in teaching culinary and pastry arts.

The Bistrot Benoit menu will include a croque-monsieur, sirloin steak with Béarnaise sauce, snail casserole and a signature Ducasse Restaurant dessert, rum baba.

Kirei by Kubaki – which won the ‘Airport Premium Dining Restaurant of the Year’ at The Moodie Davitt Report’s 2018 FAB Awards will offer a fusion of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine. Areas noted that this will cater for the diverse mix of travellers flying from Terminal 1, including many from the Middle East and Asia.

Among the menu choices – developed in partnership with Kubaki Executive Chef Alejandro Duran – are classic dishes taken from Japanese, Chinese and Thai cuisine. All dishes in the restaurant will be prepared under the direct view of guests.

This will be the first time Areas has introduced the Kirei by Kubaki concept to French airports.

Areas France CEO Yves Lacheret said: “With these two new brands in Terminal 1 at Roissy-Charles De Gaulle Airport, Areas is ready to welcome travellers with a premium offer, worthy of the best Parisian restaurants. We are proud to offer two new concepts. Bistrot Benoit, a creation of Ducasse Restaurant, will promote French gastronomy, while Kirei will offer eclectic Japanese cuisine.” ✈
