UK. Birmingham Airport has unveiled plans to introduce three new food & beverage outlets and a new executive lounge as part of its ongoing terminal transformation programme.
The openings will be phased throughout the course of this year and will be located in a newly reconfigured airside zone between gates 1 and 20 and the main departures lounge.
The airport company said the development is designed to create a seamless connection across all airside areas while expanding the travel hub’s commercial and hospitality offer.

The project will significantly broaden Birmingham Airport’s dining proposition, with the airport company highlighting a focus on choice and the ability to cater to a range of dietary preferences.
A key addition will be the arrival of UK casual-dining brand Wagamama, which will be operated by TRG Concessions (TRGC). Set in a 363sq m space, it will have seating for 180 diners.
Opening this summer, the outlet will serve the brand’s core pan-Asian menu, including ramen, rice bowls and plant-based dishes.
As with other Wagamama travel locations, the Birmingham Airport unit will also feature an exclusive breakfast menu for early morning departures, combining Asian fusion-inspired options with traditional breakfast favourites.
TREGC Commercial Director Kirsten Pottinger said in a post on LinkedIn: “Our TRGC portfolio is growing once again later this year. Wagamama will be joining the F&B line up at Birmingham Airport to bring the very best in pan-Asian inspired casual dining to passengers.”
Birmingham Airport has shared concept imagery of the new walkway, which will transform the current departures lounge with greater natural light and enhanced views of the runway. See it via the YouTube link above.
Alongside the restaurant launches, the development will include a new executive business lounge aimed at supporting Birmingham Airport’s expanding business travel segment.
Birmingham Airport Commercial Director Richard Gill commented, “We’re delighted to announce these new openings in our departure lounge during this record period of growth at Birmingham Airport, including Wagamama.
“From much-loved high-street brands to BHX-first exclusives, our dining options will diversify our airside hospitality and provide new pre-flight dining experiences.
“By effectively reconfiguring space, the new development will also improve the passenger experience with a cohesive and connected departures lounge. We look forward to sharing further details of our new openings soon.”
The announcement follows a record year for Birmingham Airport in 2025, when passenger numbers reached 13.65 million, its highest ever annual total.
