SPAIN. Areas today (5 June) unveiled a 9,407sq ft outlet, which includes a Burger King, at Fuerteventura Airport.
The eatery is located in the first-floor boarding hall and Areas has an eight-year contract covering its operation.

Areas said its understanding of the airport business, combined with in-depth studies of passenger profiles, ensured the correct brand choice to meet client requirements when opening new restaurants.
“In the case of the Fuerteventura Airport, this brand [Burger King] perfectly matches the typical passenger profile: a 44 year-old, generally foreign (82%), travelling as a couple and who has virtually no seasonal variation,” Areas stated.

Areas also recently opened a Burger King outlet at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport Terminal 1.
