NORWAY. Global travel experience player Avolta has bolstered its long-standing partnership with Avinor, securing a contract to operate ten food & beverage outlets across Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
Under the new contract, a seven-store package will operate for seven years, including a food hall, complemented by three single-store packages contracted for five years.
Avolta’s range of local and international concepts will span over 2,600sq m, incorporating technology-driven solutions such as 24-hour self-service food walls and QR code ordering.
Through a partnership with Klimato, the F&B programme offers carbon footprint data on meals, guiding travellers toward more sustainable food choices.
The selection of outlets features renowned restaurant brands such as Burger King and Peppes Pizza, which has been serving travellers for over 20 years. Avolta is also set to introduce its proprietary store Two Tigers to the airport.
A new addition, MEL – Norwegian Bakery, will showcase Norwegian artisan baking in the International Departures Terminal. It will offer freshly baked traditional treats such as skillingsboller, solskinnsboller, cinnamon buns and sourdough bread, with barista-prepared coffee to complement the experience.
Other highlights include the debut of Asia Street Cooking Ltd. in both Landside Arrivals and the International Departures Terminal. It will serve an array of Asian-inspired cuisine, including fresh sushi, sashimi and ramen.
Crafts – Oslo’s Gastropub, popular among travellers at Stavanger Airport, will feature classic gastropub dishes alongside local and international beers.
Avolta’s family-friendly all-day dining concept Journey – Kitchen & Bar will present a menu ranging from omelettes and burgers to local fish soup, accompanied by a variety of wines, local and international beers, and barista-style coffee.
The first of the ten stores launched in December, with the remaining locations scheduled to open throughout the first half of the year. Avolta’s presence in Norway extends to Stavanger Airport, featuring Sirkus Renaa, a local concept by Michelin Star Chef Sven Erik Renaa.
Avolta CEO Northern, Central and Eastern Europe Walter Seib said: “With a presence of more than 15 years at Oslo Airport, it is a privilege to contribute to the airport’s F&B transformation with the award of this significant contract.”
Avinor Executive Vice President – Commercial Areas Joachim Lupnaav Johnsen added: “We are pleased to further strengthen our long-standing partnership with Avolta AG through this significant contract. With over 15 years of presence at Oslo Airport, Avolta has consistently provided a high-quality dining experience for travellers.
“This new agreement will enhance the food & beverage offerings across the Domestic and International Terminals, catering to the diverse tastes of both Norwegian travellers and visitors to Norway.”
