Avolta opens first of its kind hybrid F&B and retail concept at Milan Malpensa Airport

ITALY. Autogrill and Dufry, now combined under the name Avolta, have unveiled Hudson Café Milano, a first-of-its-kind hybrid concept in Italy at Milan Malpensa Airport’s Terminal 2. The venture combines a café, food retail and a bookstore.

The café provides a range of Autogrill’s bestselling beverages and food – both Italian and international. Avolta describes it as a location that offers “a complete experience, a place not only for shopping but also relaxation and the enjoyment of good food”.

The hybrid concept from Avolta combines a café experience with a retail offer that includes confectionery and books

Healthy options such as fruit, pokes and yoghurts are available, as well as grab and go snacks including pastries and sandwiches. There are also vegetarian and vegan options.

Food retail partners in the store include Nestlé Italia and Italian confectionery company Baci Perugina.

Travel essentials are also available alongside a selection of books and newspapers.

Autogrill Italy CEO Massimiliano Santoro said: “Hudson Café Milano represents one of the first results of an important collaboration between our two companies [Autogrill and Dufry], which have joined together to create the main global player in the travel experience, with the aim of revolutionising the experience of those who travel.”

Autogrill Italy General Manager Luca D’Alba commented: “Our shared commitment and our shared vision is to meet the evolving needs of our customers, developing increasingly innovative concepts with a multi-sector offering.”

The world’s only event dedicated solely to the airport food & beverage and hospitality sectors will make a welcome return to the US next June. Please contact The Moodie Davitt Report Head of Events Jeannie Wong at Jeannie@MoodieDavittReport.com for details.
