CANADA. Avolta, under its Dufry brand, has opened a new Toronto Duty Free store in Toronto Pearson International Airport Terminal 3.
The opening marks phase one of the airport’s wider retail revitalisation initiative; a partnership between Avolta and Greater Toronto Airports Authority.
The partners aim to enhance the retail experience at Toronto Pearson, which welcomed 46.8 million passengers in 2024.
The 170sq m shop features a curated assortment of Canadian-made products alongside a selection of international wines, spirits and confectionery.
The offer includes local favourites such as Ontario’s own Peller Estates wine, Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers, Turkey Hill maple syrup and Sundance Seafood, as well as Avolta’s own Exploring Canada private label.
Popular duty free brands including Toblerone, Lindt, Godiva, Johnnie Walker, Grey Goose and Patrón are also featured.
Plans are already underway to expand the store with an additional 340sq m of retail space dedicated to luxury cosmetics and fragrances.

The retailer is running an exclusive VIP area for Club Avolta members in the new store over the next few weeks. The lounge-style space offers a relaxing pre-flight experience with complimentary tastings and access to member-only pricing at Toronto Duty Free.
“Our new Toronto Duty Free store greatly expands the duty-free offerings at Toronto Pearson and is the first phase of a significant retail revitalisation taking place in the coming months and years,” said Avolta Executive Vice President Duty Free North America & Canada Operations Kate Herzig.
“We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Greater Toronto Airports Authority as we continue to make travellers happier during their journey through Toronto Pearson — part of our vision to create a travel experience revolution.”

“We’re always working to enhance the passenger experience at Toronto Pearson, and that includes expanding the range of retail options available,” added Toronto Pearson Interim Chief Commercial Officer Kurush Minocher.
“This exciting new duty-free store is another step toward offering travellers more choice, greater convenience, and an elevated shopping experience when they pass through our airport.”
Avolta, through its Dufry brand, currently operates nearly 50,000sq ft (4,645sq m) of duty free retail space in Terminals 1 and 3 at Toronto Pearson.
Its existing portfolio includes leading luxury and beauty brands such as Chanel, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Dior, MAC Cosmetics, Burberry, Ferragamo, Longchamp, Omega and Bulgari. ✈
