Sknfed becomes first local brand showcased in London Gatwick’s regional producers carousel

UK. London Gatwick Airport has launched a new retail initiative in its North Terminal with organic skincare company Sknfed. The brand has become the first local business to operate from a newly installed carousel unit designed to showcase regional producers.

The carousel, a bespoke unit built by Eastbourne-based design firm Helo Works, is part of Gatwick’s strategy to promote local and sustainable products to its 43 million international passengers each year.

The space offers rotating retail opportunities to small, independent businesses looking for high-visibility exposure in one of the UK’s busiest travel hubs.

Founded in Thornton Heath, Sknfed produces organic skincare products using natural ingredients and sustainable packaging. Its product line includes moisturisers, cleansers, lip balms and bodycare, designed for a variety of skin types.

London Gatwick Head of Retail Stephane Geffroy said: “We’re proud to launch this initiative with Sknfed, a brilliant example of local entrepreneurship and sustainable innovation. The carousel unit is a celebration of our region’s creativity and produce and we’re excited to give passengers the chance to discover and support these fantastic local brands.”

Sknfed Founder Marzena Mlynarska commented: “We are incredibly proud to be the first local business to join London Gatwick’s new carousel initiative. As a family business rooted in South London, sustainability and mindful living are at the heart of everything we do.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to share our organic skincare with travellers from all over the world, while showcasing how local, ethical brands can make a global impact.”

The bespoke unit will rotate annually, allowing other local producers the opportunity to sell in a high-footfall, international setting.

The initiative also aligns with Gatwick’s involvement in the Sussex Six Campaign, which promotes visibility of Sussex-sourced products. The airport currently features 37 Sussex-born items across its retail outlets, restaurants and bars.
