Avolta reinforces China market visibility with Hainan Expo debut

CHINA. Avolta, the world’s largest travel retailer, is making its debut at the 2026 China International Consumer Products Expo (Hainan Expo – 13-18 April) this week, offering members instant Gold Card membership upgrades and other benefits.

Avolta (Booth 5T07) is also conducting a special lucky draw during the Expo.

During the event, consumers can instantly upgrade to Club Avolta Gold Card membership by scanning a QR code on-site, enjoying exclusive discounts of up to -7%, compared to the standard 5% discount for Silver Card members.

Importantly, this benefit is not limited to the Hainan Expo nor Hainan province, but covers more than 5,000 Avolta duty-free shops, restaurants, and other stores in over 70 countries. Additionally, on-site registered members can participate in an exclusive lucky draw to win customised gifts.

Enhanced Club Avolta Gold Card membership will apply to all Avolta stores, including those recently opened at Shanghai Pudong International Airport

The upgrade strategy is designed not only to enhance membership and lock in high-value purchasing in advance, but as a fulcrum to further leverage growth potential in the Chinese and wider Asia-Pacific travel retail markets.

As reported, Avolta’s position in China’s travel retail market received a huge boost on 16 December last year when it – as Dufry (Shanghai) Commercial Co – was awarded the concession to run departures and arrivals duty-free shops in the international areas of Terminal 1 (T1) and Satellite Hall 1 (S1) at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. 🏝️

Avolta commenced business at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 1 January
