US. The US airport introduction of premium beauty brands Kiehl’s and NARS Cosmetics is the highlight of Duty Free America’s new and expanded 8,000sq ft duty free store at New York JFK Airport Terminal 7 opened earlier this month.
Airport Division President Enrique Urioste said the two brands – plus fellow debutants Sisley and Smashbox – have each got off to a flying start since their respective introductions. “They are already working amazingly well,” he told The Moodie Report.
“With Kiehl’s, for example, from the first day of selling in January to yesterday [18 January] we had already sold 600 units,” he said. “Now we plan to start to roll it out to other [New York] terminals and other airports.”

NARS, the Shisheido-owned make-up and skincare brand, is also flourishing. Despite its super-premium price-points, it has already generated sales of over 250 units this month, Urioste said. “For both Kiehl’s and NARS it’s their first duty free operation in the Americas,” he told The Moodie Report.
As reported, the T7 outlet is NARS’ first-ever freestanding travel retail corner.
Although figures for Sisley and Smashbox were not available, both brands had also started very well, Urioste noted.
We’ll bring you more details on the new JFK T7 store soon.
