Biannual CEETRA Forum to be staged online next week

EUROPE. The Central & Eastern European Travel Retail Association (CEETRA) is to hold its next biannual forum on 23 February. Commencing at 10:00am (CET), the event will be in a virtual format with an expected duration of about two hours.

The CEETRA Forum, which will encompass current topics and issues faced by the travel retail industry, is open to both members and non-members in the Central and Eastern European region.

The event will be introduced by CEETRA Chair Dr Patrick Bohl, Head of Retail and Property Management at Budapest Airport.

The first presentation of the event will be from Smartseller Managing Director Karl Niendorf. He will discuss a new retail invention at Ljubljana Airport in a session titled ‘Creating a liquid passenger retail experience’.

Next up is a panel session with the theme of ‘Future role and sustainable development for brands in travel retail’. Chaired by PPS Media and Events Managing Director Paul Hogan, panellists include Pernod Ricard Senior Customer Marketing Manager Sam Rawson; BAT Engagement Manager Global Travel Retail Nebojsa Cirjakovic; and chocoMe Chocolatier Mészáros Gábor.

The next session –  ‘Food service trends in the post-Covid world’ – will be delivered by Lagardère Travel Retail Poland CEO of Food Service Maciej Gajkowski. He will cover topics including concept hybridisation, new menu-influencing product trends, digital and CSR.

The forum will conclude with an update from European Travel Retail Confederation (ETRC) Secretary General Julie Lassaigne on various developments affecting the travel retail and duty free sector in Europe, including the ETRC campaign to introduce arrivals duty free in the EU.

A short Q&A session will follow each agenda item.
