Bottega Prosecco Bar & Caffé continues expansion with Budapest Airport venue

HUNGARY. Bottega Prosecco Bar & Caffé has opened its latest venue at Budapest Airport. The venue’s format is the latest strong platform for Bottega to showcase its wines, spirits and liqueurs, while fulfilling its aim of promoting Italian wine and food culture.

The Italian wines & spirits company’s bar concept is inspired by the Venetian tradition of ‘bacari’ – small rustic taverns where food is presented both as ‘cicheti’ (small plates), traditional food bites to be consumed at the counter, and as bigger dishes served at the table.

At the Budapest Airport airport venue, Bottega offers its ‘Perfect Match’ service. This combines typical Italian regional cuisines with the brand’s wines. These include Prosecco’s sparkling wines made from prized grape varieties, prestigious reds (for example Amarone, Brunello di Montalcino and Ripasso), dessert wines, and a selection of white and barrique grappas, as well as fruit and cream-based liqueurs.

The drinks company noted that in recent years, the Prosecco Bar offer has been following trends by expanding its offer to include signature cocktails, created by expert bartenders; organic wines and liqueurs; and, more recently, alcohol-free sparkling drinks.

Bottega President Sandro Bottega, who noted wider refurbishment investments and traffic growth at Budapest Airport, said: “The opening of the Prosecco Bar in Budapest is a further step in our format, which offers travellers the opportunity to informally enjoy some of the best-known Italian dishes, paired with our wines.

“The success in airports is a prerequisite for new openings in the near future in other important premises.”

The Prosecco Bar format was launched in 2014 onboard the Viking Line’s ship Cinderella, which operates on the Baltic Sea. Its travel venue footprint now extends to Rome-Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, Dubai International, Venice Marco Polo, Istanbul, London Stansted, Birmingham International, Zayed International (Abu Dhabi), Bologna Guglielmo Marconi, Václav Havel Prague, Burgas and Varna airports. ‍
