Brown-Forman Director of Travel Retail Jim Perry presents a Jack Daniel’s barrelhead to TFWA President Erik Juul Mortensen symbolising the US$8,000 contribution to the Heart2Art initiative

Brown-Forman Travel Retail is donating US$8,000 generated by the Jack Daniel’s “˜Buy the Barrel’ programme to TFWA’s Heart2Art charity campaign.

The cheque presentation to TFWA took place this week on the Brown-Forman stand during the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas.

The “˜Buy the Barrel’ programme was held at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes last year. US$1,000 of the proceeds from the sale of each barrel of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey was contributed to the charity.

Brown-Forman Director of Travel Retail Jim Perry said: “We were extremely pleased with the response to our “˜Buy the Barrel’ programme in Cannes and are delighted to make this significant contribution to such a worthwhile charity as Heart2Art.”

TFWA’s Heart2Art fund-raising initiative has generated over €100,000 to date for The Smile Train and The Lotus Flower Trust. The funds were raised through the sale of limited-edition prints during the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes and up to the end of 2009, plus the auction of paintings produced by children helped by the two charities.

ABOUT THE TWO CHARITIES

The Lotus Flower Trust (www.lotusflowertrust.org) helps the destitute and homeless of India. Its vision is to “˜change lives’ – the lives of children in remote and impoverished communities in India, by providing educational facilities to help break the cycle of poverty.

The Smile Train (www.SmileTrain.org) helps children to overcome the pain, stigma and disfigurement of clefts by funding life-transforming operations in over 75 countries and funding the development of medical expertise within those countries.
