BELGIUM. Brussels Airport Company has issued a tender, via The Moodie Report, for four stores in terminals A and B, measuring between 40sq m and 77sq m. The tender is prompted by the closure of several electronics stores at the airport.
Potential candidates are asked to send an email with details of their business to the Commercial Department at Brussels Airport (commercial.info@ brusselsairport.be) for the attention of Ingrid Mees, by 20 June.
The formal tender process will then begin, with bids due by 31 July, a decision on the winning bidders by early September and contracts to begin in October or November. The concessions will run for three or five years, depending on the location. Bidders will be expected to propose the brand or concept they believe will best fit the space.
Brussels Airport handled 18.8 million passengers in 2011, up by +9.3% year-on-year. The airport company oversees around 100 retail and F&B units.
