Capi completes Amsterdam Airport Schiphol upgrade with landside store

NETHERLANDS. Electronics retailer Capi has opened its refurbished landside shop in the Schiphol Plaza shopping centre at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Located in the Arrivals 2 area of Schiphol Plaza, it is the last of the retailer’s shops at the hub to be refreshed to Capi’s new concept, and features special opening offers and extra promotions this month.

Headphones are located in the front of the shop, while Apple and Samsung products have a dominant presence, with interactive displays and a range of accessories. A promotion with Samsung this month will see customers have a chance to win a Honda scooter.

Royal Capi-Lux Managing Director Peter Wiggers said: “This latest refurbishment is in line with our objective to add value to the total airport retail experience. We offer travellers an inspiring shopping experience with a trendsetting and focused product assortment in an internationally recognisable setting and our latest shop fulfills that goal.”

The retailer said it has worked closely with suppliers of the leading brands and niche brands of consumer electronics to provide travellers with a “trendsetting assortment” in the new concept. Bose, GoPro and Beats by Dr Dre each have their own branded presentation, while a “˜Touch & Feel’ table highlights the latest in wireless speakers and headphones.

The growing popularity of stylish headphones has also led to the creation of “˜Headphone of the Month’ and “˜Top Selection’ models on the new table. Models can be tried on to see how they fit.

The latest addition to the retail concept is Gifting, with a table dedicated to a wide range of gift items, further presentations and a showcase on the surrounding walls. This section is recognisable by the special signing “˜From Amsterdam, for you’ on the table. Meanwhile, a 3D printer, also for sale, has been set up on the table to make customized smartphone cases.
