USA. Gerald R. Ford International Airport has named Carlos Ruiz as its new Chief Commercial Officer.
He assumes responsibility for commercial revenue generation, business development and strategic marketing at Michigan’s second-busiest airport.
Ruiz (pictured) joins from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, where he was Director of Commercial Management since May 2022.

There, he directed the strategy and performance of over US$90 million annually in non-aeronautical revenue streams, including retail and food & beverage concessions, car parking, car rental and ground transportation.
His earlier experience included a role as Director of Commercial Business at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (2019-2022) and a commercial management position at Ohio State University Airport.
Ruiz said: “It’s an honour and privilege to join the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority and serve a community with such strong momentum. I’m excited to help expand GRR’s commercial opportunities in ways that elevate the guest experience and fuel regional economic development.
“GRR has a bold vision for the future and I’m inspired by the airport authority’s commitment to innovation and collaboration. I look forward to working alongside the dedicated team to build on the airport’s incredible foundation and help deliver meaningful value to West Michigan.” ✈
