Chanel unveils limited-edition ‘Jardin Imaginaire’ summer makeup collection

The latest Le Vernis nail polishes take inspiration from vibrant summer flora

Luxury house Chanel has released the limited-edition Jardin Imaginaire summer 2024 makeup collection. The vibrant range was designed by Chanel Global Makeup Creative Partner Ammy Drammeh, member of creative makeup collective Cométes Collective.

The line is set to be launched on 15 July in selected Chanel stores across global travel retail.

Describing the range, Drammeh said: “I wanted to build a bridge between reality and fiction. I was inspired by fairy tales and stories that describe nature as an enchanted place saturated with colour, where flowers resemble jewels and where harmonious light reflects the most surprising textures.

“I wanted to add unexpected vibrant nuances and treat each colour like a tool, to be used with skill.”

The range explores the power of colour and offers an array of vibrant hues across different multi-use products. These include eyeshadow pencils, highlighter balms, highlighter and blush compacts and nail varnishes.

The Stylo Yeux Ombre et Contour pencils come in the Celestial Pink, Nuage Bleu, Néon Dahlia, Dream Leaf, Atardecer, Attaya and Écorce shades. They can be used to create bold makeup looks.

“With this collection, I wanted to provide the opportunity to be free and to wear the colours that resemble us,” Drammeh added.

“For this season, I wanted to dress the Stylo Ombre et Couture in imaginative, ultra-audacious shades. They make it possible to create numerous makeup looks easily. They provide the opportunity to feel confident and have fun with colours that one might not dare to wear on an everyday basis.”

The Baume Essentiel comes in two shades: Moonlight Kiss and Solar Glow. The multi-use highlighter balms can be worn as a highlighter or bronzer and can be used on eyes, cheeks, brows and lips.

“The Moonlight Kiss shade is a rose gold that adorns the cheeks with a radiant, luminous glow. A multi-use colourway ideal for every day, it can be worn on the tops of the cheekbones as well as on the browbone, the nose and the inner corner of the eyelids.

“Solar Glow is a surprising coppery bronze. On darker skins, its warm nuances elevate the complexion. On lighter skin it highlights with a tan sheen that is perfect for the summer season.”

The blush and highlighter duos come in the Gold and Peach and Light and Berry colourways, while the Le Vernis nail polish collection has been extended with three new summer shades: Rêveuse, Songe d’été and Faun.

Drammeh added: “For this first powder colour harmony, I chose two warm colours that evoke the sunset. They highlight the complexion, while also providing a natural healthy glow with a subtle tan thanks to the coral blush.

“This second creation was inspired by the colours seen in summer flowers such as dahlias. The highlighter contains pink pearlescence for an iridescent result on the skin. As for the blush, it is a matte fuchsia pink that suits all complexions well.”

Rêveuse is a metallic golden-green inspired by insects in tropical forests; Songe d’été is a rosy pearlescent top coat than can be worn alone or on top of other nail polishes; while Faun is a rich brown.
