USA. Paradies Lagardère has appointed David Bisset as Executive Vice President effective 13 July. He reports to President and CEO Gregg Paradies.
Bisset will become the company’s Chief Development Officer at the end of the year, succeeding Gerry Savaria, who is stepping down after 33 years of dedicated service, the company said.
Savaria will work closely with Bisset to ensure a smooth transition in coming months and will continue in an advisory role in 2024.
Bisset, a New Zealander, has more than 20 years of experience across different geographies including the Pacific, Asia and the Middle East within private and publicly traded companies.
Most recently he was a partner with a US-based private equity firm focusing on American and Middle East-based investments, including in the aviation sector.
Earlier he worked with Lagardère Travel Retail for ten years, holding several senior positions including CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Middle East and Executive General Manager, Pacific.
Bisset has an extensive background across all three Lagardère business units – Retail, Dining, and Duty Free – where his responsibilities included business development, operations, buying, marketing, supply chain, and investment.

Prior to Lagardère, he worked for DFS Group in Singapore and New Zealand, managing duty free and luxury operations.
He also has experience leading start-ups, establishing new markets, implementing joint ventures and franchises, integrating acquisitions, and making equity investments.
“I greatly appreciate Gerry’s partnership over the years as he has done an outstanding job leading the Business Development, Marketing, and Design and Construction functions for our company,” said Gregg Paradies.
“I look forward to continuing to work with Gerry in his new advisory role. In addition, I am very excited to have David join the organisation as he brings a wealth of experience and will be a great cultural fit.” ✈
