The new L’Eau Azzaro, composed by Michel Girard |
US. Distributor Essence Corp is rolling out the new Azzaro Pour Homme L’Eau men’s fragrance to the Americas market. In 2011, the fragrance is being launched exclusively in the Americas and Caribbean travel retail, prior to the worldwide roll-out in 2012.
Azzaro Pour Homme L’Eau is described as a refreshing, invigorating alternative to the more intense juice of the original scent, making it ideal for the summer season. It channels the same olfactory DNA. Its predecessor, Azzaro pour Homme, was created in 1978. Singer Enrique Iglesias became the face of the brand in 2009.
The juice was composed by Givaudan’s Michel Girard, and is said to represent a new take on the citrus/aqua/fougère family. The top note – the Sun Facet – is a cocktail of citrus zests and fruit, including citron, grapefruit and yuzu. At the heart, the Aqua Facet of lavender and geranium enhance the greenness of the top note, while the Timeless Facet endows the base with a seductive combination of vetiver, sandalwood, musk and patchouli.
The Azzaro Pour Homme L’Eau bottle echoes that of its predecessor, with slight modifications to the original colour scheme. The frosted glass flacon is topped with a matte silver cap.
Azzaro Pour Homme L’Eau is available as a non-refillable 100ml, priced in travel retail at around US$63. The advertising visual features Iglesias and a female model embracing whilst water cascades around them.
