ITALY. Ferrero Travel Market Division will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Tic Tac sugar confectionery at the TFWA World Exhibition later this month with the launch of new variety multi-packs exclusive to travel retail (Stand number: Green Village M62.
Launched in 1969, the white Tic Tac, with its vanilla-flavoured coating and soft mint centre presented in a clear plastic flip-top box, was a departure from traditional sweets in their cardboard packs and plastic bags.
Tangy orange and bright green freshmint flavours followed, with multi-packs available exclusively in travel retail.
This year in Cannes, Ferrero will launch two new variety six-packs exclusive to travel retail:
•Freshness Mix with two 16g packs each of white freshmint, turquoise intense mint and blue extra strong mint;
•Fruity Mix with two 16g packs each of yellow mango mint, orange, and scarlet citrus acerola mint.

Rainbow-coloured and neatly packed, the new Tic Tac variety six-packs have been developed for impulse purchase at the till and inflight. They will be available in-store from January 2010 with a recommended retail price of €3.00.
Ferrero Travel Market Division Marketing Manager Serge van Wijck said: “Even after all these years and occasional attempts at imitation, Tic Tac retains its premier position in the breath freshener market. The new tropical fruit flavours are zesty and fun and the cool minty selection offers a range of mint strength to suit everyone. I am delighted that these two exciting new products will be exclusive to travel retail, offering the travelling consumer something he will not find in his local store.”
Ferrero will exhibit the new Tic Tac range alongside its other premium brands, which include Ferrero Rocher, Ferrero Rondnoir, Kinder, Nutella and Raffaello, at the TFWA World Exhibition.
