Fetzer Vineyards appoints Bruce Losee as Sales Director

US. Hopland, California-based Fetzer Vineyards has named Bruce Losee as Sales Director. He is responsible for wine sales in areas such as duty free/travel retail, cruise lines, the military and Caribbean Islands – among others yet to be named.

Losee joined Fetzer after serving 16 years with Brown-Forman Corporation, which sold Fetzer Vineyards to Chilean wine producer Concho y Toro in April this year. His last role at Brown-Forman was the management of duty free and Caribbean sales.

The US$238 million sale included the Fetzer winery, bottling facility, and vineyards, as well as the Fetzer brand and other Hopland, California-based wines, including Bonterra, Little Black Dress, Jekel, Five Rivers, and Sanctuary. Losee will represent all six brands.

Commenting on the appointment, Fetzer Vineyards CEO Giancarlo Bianchetti noted Losee’s wealth of experience and knowledge of both wine and the wine business environment.

“Bruce Losee is a great addition to the Fetzer team and his experience with these wine brands and knowledge of business fit in perfectly with our plans for growth,” Bianchetti said.

Losee added: “Concho y Toro has a sterling reputation within both the wine industry and the business world and I am proud to be a part of what they are working so hard to develop here at Fetzer.”

Fetzer is one of California’s leading wine brands with sales of more than three million cases. Founded in 1968, Fetzer is recognised as a leader in varietal wine development, sustainable agriculture and as an environmental leader. Bonterra is said to be the largest organically grown winery in the world, producing a wide range of affordable varietals along with its Biodynamic reserve lines, The Butler and The McNab. Both vineyards are located in Mendocino Country, California.
