AUSTRALIA. Today’s images come from Sydney Airport where Heinemann Oceania is celebrating the Year of the Horse with a cross-category pop-up campaign in Terminal 1.
The activation, dressed in auspicious red and gold, features Year of the Horse theming, bringing seasonal festivities into the heart of the terminal. Traditional Lunar New Year motifs – including paper lanterns and red envelopes – frame the space, while travellers are invited to write their own new year wishes on gold hanging decorations.
The pop-up at the Heinemann Tax & Duty Free store features a playful horseshoe game where participants can win special vouchers and discounts. Travellers can also take selfies in a Year of the Horse-themed photo area.
In addition, Heinemann Oceania is spotlighting a range of Lunar New Year limited-edition expressions across confectionery, spirits and toys.


These include prestige Year of the Horse releases, such Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Royal Salute 21 Year Old, Penfolds Bin 389, Rémy Martin Xue Song and Hennessy X.O. Travellers can also shop horse toys and festive merchandise from Sanrio and Miffy and festive editions from Toblerone and Lindor.
The campaign is supported by a ‘Leap into prosperity’ promotional mechanic running throughout January and February. Travellers can receive vouchers based on different spend levels across a variety of brands and categories. The mechanic was designed to drive both celebration and incremental purchase during the peak seasonal period.

From 16-22 February Heinemann Oceania’s roaming Sydney Airport team will be distributing fortune cookies and bespoke red envelopes as part of a surprise-and-delight gifting initiative.
Available during select morning hours, the envelopes contain exclusive in-terminal retail offers redeemable prior to departure, adding an additional layer of engagement and time-sensitive excitement to the Lunar New Year festivities.
With its rich seasonal symbolism, vibrant execution and engaging retail theatre, Heinemann Oceania’s Year of the Horse celebration provides a timely reminder of how travel retail can bring cultural moments to life in a fun and engaging way. ✈
