CHINA. The much-anticipated Zhuhai Duty Free Gongbei Port arrivals store was unveiled yesterday (24 May) with a Grand Opening ceremony.
Swedish beauty tech and wellbeing house Foreo is one of many beauty brands to open at the new location, offering its new Luna 4 micro-cleansing, Bear Mini facial toning, UFO 2 90-second masking and Issa 3 toothbrush devices.

The Zhuhai Duty Free Gongbei Port arrivals store offers over 100 luxury beauty brands including Foreo, YSL Beauté, L’Oréal Paris and Versace. Over 50% of the brands are first-entry brands in Chinese land ports, the retailer said. It occupies an impressive 3,889 sq m of retail space, becoming the biggest land port duty free store in Asia Pacific.
Foreo’s Swedish beauty campaign features prominently in its new space, offering a holistic beauty routine in only 3 ½ steps and taking only six and a half minutes. The Luna 4, Bear, UFO 2 device and Issa 3 all come together to make up Foreo’s Swedish beauty routine.
Step 1 is the Luna 4 which is used to cleanse and firm the skin. Step 2 is the Bear which uses micro-currents and T-Sonic pulsations to lift and contour the face. Step 3 is the UFO 2 which provides all the nourishing benefits of a 30-minute face mask into one 90-second routine. The Issa 3 completes the 3 ½ steps, providing elevated oral hygiene. The Issa 3 is 10,000 times more hygienic than traditional toothbrushes.

Founded in 1980, Zhuhai Duty Free is a pioneer in China’s duty free business, particularly in port duty free. The opening of the Zhuhai Duty Free Gongbei Port arrivals store marks an important milestone for the company thanks to its strategic land port location where it caters to the largest customs clearance flow in China.
Peak passenger numbers in Gongbei reach 499,000 per day, the company said. Zhuhai City, located in the southern part of Guangdong Province is only 36 nautical miles away from Hong Kong in the east and is connected to Macau in the South.
After the completion of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macau Bridge, Zhuhai became the only city in Mainland China to be connected to both Hong Kong and Macau, by land, at the same time. It is the second largest port city in China next to Shenzhen and offers ten ports. ✈
