GDF Plaza and L’OCCITANE host joint VIP member salon in Haikou

VIP Service: The engaging event blended education and an exclusive luxury experience

CHINA. Hainan Development Holdings-owned Global Premium Duty Free (GDF) Plaza and wellbeing to skincare brand L’OCCITANE held a VIP members-only event within the GDF VIP Room at Mova Mall, Haikou on 21 October.

The occasion allowed consumers to enjoy an exclusive luxury skincare experience with an emphasis on caring for the environment and protecting the biodiversity of the planet.

During the salon event, GDF VIP members learned about L’OCCITANE’s skincare experience and the brand’s eco-friendly concept. They also created artworks with preserved flowers and recycled bottles of L’OCCITANE’s various products.

In 2021, L’OCCITANE en Provence was recognised by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation as one of the most committed brands in the fight against plastics. The brand has pledged to manufacture 100% of its plastic bottles from 100% recycled waste by 2025.

L’OCCITANE Group is a leader in driving sustainability within the travel retail industry, GDF Plaza noted. The company supports the industry’s fight for sustainable change by adopting open source sharing and a proactive, eco-friendly approach to production, packaging, reducing waste, regenerating biodiversity and reducing its carbon footprint.

“I’m a big fan of L’OCCITANE, I’ve been using its products for many years, not only because of its luxury skincare experience, but also the brand’s environmental protection concept. I love the artwork DIY with its used-up bottles as all of them are recycled,” commented a GDF Plaza VIP member.

GDF Plaza opened the VIP Room in its Mova Mall, Haikou store on 20 May this year. Its Platinum members and above can enjoy a range of luxury services there, including spa treatments, wine tastings, flower arrangement DIY sessions, fragrance masterclasses and more. To date, GDF Plaza has attracted more than one million VIP members.

“The salon jointly held by GDF Plaza and L’OCCITANE will enhance the cooperation between the two parties and further expand our membership system,” GDF Plaza said.
