Newly created Delhi-based Platinum Liquids and Hong Kong-based Global Drinks Ltd (GDL) today announced a distribution partnership to develop GDL’s premium whisky brand Misaka within the India and Middle East region.
As reported, GDL – primarily known as a brand agency and supply chain provider – recently expanded its portfolio with the addition of its own created global travel retail-exclusive premium Japanese whisky brand, Misaka.
The partnership comes hot on the heels of the creation of Platinum Liquids by much-respected travel retail and drinks industry veteran Gaurav Joshi, until recently Asia Pacific Director at Bacardi Global Travel Retail.
Platinum Liquids is specialising in premium spirits and tobacco in global travel retail and high-end domestic markets across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
The Misaka collection comprises seven whiskies. These include a 3-5 Year Old pure malt; a 12 Year Old pure malt finished in PX Sherry Oloroso casks; and a 12 Year Old pure malt finished in rare Hokkaido Mizunara (Japanese oak) casks. They are complemented by 15, 18, and 21 year blended and pure malt expressions also finished in prized Mizunara oak.
