Guerlain extends masculine fragrance line with trio of spirits-inspired parfums

Guerlain has launched archival scents L’Homme Idéal, Habit Rouge and Vetiver as intense parfums
The three scents were reimagined by Perfumer Delphine Jelk

French luxury beauty house Guerlain has extended its masculine fragrance line with three parfums: Habit Rouge Le Parfum, L’Homme Idéal Le Parfum and Vetiver Le Parfum. They are now available in selected Guerlain boutiques in global travel retail.

The fragrances were created by Guerlain Perfumer Delphine Jelk and mark the first time that Guerlain has launched its classic Habit Rouge, L’Homme Idéal and Vetiver scents into parfums.

Jelk turned to the world of spirits for inspiration, borrowing several key notes and composition styles to create the three highly concentrated scents.

Habit Rouge, first launched in 1965 and described by Guerlain as “the first amber fragrance for men”, was inspired by bourbon. It is a woody, spicy fragrance with the roundness of Madagascan vanilla and Patchouli.

L’Homme Idéal is inspired by Amaretto liqueur. The modern masculine scent blends fresh citrus with aromatic plants and leathery notes. It centres on an Amaretto accord, blended with leather and woody patchouli accents with hints of musk.

The Vetiver Le Parfum, first launched 1959, is inspired by infused gin. It centres on a powerful Vetiver accord, blended with aromatic top notes of bitter juniper berry tobacco and Tonka bean. ✈
