Last November Guerlain introduced its new Santal Royal fragrance to Dubai Duty Free for an exclusive two-month period prior to its roll-out across the region, which is taking place this month. The listing was supported by high-profile in-store animations and digital activity.
As its name suggests, the Arabian-themed unisex scent pays tribute to sandalwood, a key ingredient within the juice’s heart.

“During my travels, in search of fine raw ingredients, I am sometimes fascinated by one of them or find one more inspiring than the others, and then I devote a fragrance to it in its honour,” said Guerlain Perfumer Thierry Wasser. “This was recently the case with sandalwood.”
In addition to sandalwood, Santal Royal features top notes of neroli and cinnamon, complemented by essence of rose, amber, leather and oud. A sensual facet, courtesy of a hint of musk with the Guerlain signature, completes the juice.
The fragrance is presented in a black lacquer bottle, adorned at the neck with a black and gold ribbon trim. The recommended travel retail price-point is US$175 for the 125ml edp.
