US. HDS Retail North America has acquired a majority interest in Delstar Companies, Inc, one of the largest women-owned businesses in Phoenix, Arizona. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Delstar is a leading travel retailer with retail speciality shops across Arizona and California. It specialises in developing innovative merchandising concepts.
As part of the transaction Delstar Founder Pam Del Duca will retain ownership of certain entities and stay on as President and CEO.
Started over 30 years ago by Del Duca, Delstar has pioneered retail concepts that embrace the notion of Sense of Place – such as Pueblo Spirit, Arizona Highways, Awesome Atoms, The Phoenix and azcentral.com.
“We are genuinely excited to join forces with HDS Retail; its company philosophy is a great match with ours,” stated Del Duca. “We have been impressed with their professionalism throughout this process and look forward to working together to continue to grow our business in the Southwest and beyond.”
HDS Retail President and CEO Gerry Savaria commented: “We are pleased to welcome Pam and her team to our family and look forward to leveraging our respective strengths in order to exceed expectations of both travellers and airport authorities.”
